Windstar announces the investment of 250 million dollars for the improvement of its yachts

Windstar Cruises, the company of small boutique yachts, both by motor and sail, has announced an investment of 250 million dollars for its Star Plus initiative. This initiative consists in the renewal of its fleet through a complex work carried out by the Fincantieri shipyard.

 

The three ships, Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride will be extended successively. The work will begin in October 2019 and will end in November 2020. This renovation will provide a capacity of 312 guests with additional staff to maintain the impressive ratio of 1.5 to 1 providing an impeccable service. Windstar is equally committed to continuing its promise to visit the smallest ports in the world, something that characterizes the brand.

 

The conversion of these ships is much more than simple updates, it is about improving the main technical and commercial qualities of the ship, while enriching the attributes that Windstar brings. For the interior design, Windstar has partnered with acclaimed designer Ray Chung, Design Director of The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry in New York, to create a modern and welcoming design aesthetic in both the new public spaces and the new suites .

50 new suites and two Owner Suites will be designed, which can be enlarged by combining them with the adjacent suites to create a space of up to three rooms and two balconies. In addition, two new gastronomic experiences will be available, an expanded Veranda restaurant to offer more capacity for diners, intimate and overlooking the sea; and another more informal one to enjoy outdoor barbecues on the upper deck.

 

A new infinity pool and a whirlpool will be the novelties along with the improvements on the deck to enjoy, relax and sunbathe. In addition, guests can have a spa and gym fully renovated and renovated. Access to the decks with new lifts will also be improved, as well as a new, more comfortable loading area in the center of the ship with the capacity to transport 90 guests to the port when the boats are anchored.

They are one of the few ships able to cross the famous Corinth Canal in Greece.
