Volotea moves its headquarters from Barcelona to Asturias, where it has its sole base in Spain

The board of directors of Volotea, meeting today, has agreed to move its registered office in Barcelona, ​​located in Travessera de Gracia, 56, to Asturias in order to “ensure the development of its activity under the aegis and under the supervision of the aeronautical authorities European “.

In Asturias, Volotea has its only operational base in Spain and operates approximately 2,000 annual flights from Santiago del Monte airport to a total of ten destinations. The company currently has a staff of 62 people in Asturias.

This year opened in Genoa its fourth Italian base and the ninth in Europe, which are added to those in Italy (Venice, Verona, Palermo and Genoa); France (Nantes, Bordeaux, Strasbourg and Toulouse) and Spain, in Asturias.

The airline of Vueling founders Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros (CEO and CEO respectively) aims to transport 4.3 million euros this year with its 40 new routes between 79 countries in 16 different countries. Volotea will have 28 aircraft this year, including A319 and Boeing 717.

It also expects to be a “100% Airbus operator” in the coming years. It provides that more than 40% of flights scheduled for 2017 are made with A319. Currently, the A319 are based in Nantes, Bordeaux and Toulouse.
