Tourism Costa del Sol highlights the hospitality and gastronomy as «priority» sectors

The general director of Tourism Costa del Sol, Arturo Bernal, has highlighted the importance of hospitality and gastronomy «as two of the priority sectors of tourism» during the opening of the eighth edition of the Gastromarketing congress, which is being held since Monday in the Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Malaga (Fycma).

In this sense, Bernal has indicated that «gastronomy has evolved very positively in recent years to become in its own right one of the hallmarks of the brand Spain and, of course, the brand Costa del Sol.»

In this regard, he said that «this exciting revolution has affected both their concept and creativity, as in the management of the hospitality business.»

As indicated by the general director of Tourism Costa del Sol, «we can proudly show that the management of the kitchens, of our chefs, has conquered the firmament of the stars thanks to the numerous training centers and, above all, for that commitment that they do for innovation with the creation of gastronomy R & D centers and for the commitment to interdisciplinarity in the kitchen «.

Bernal insisted that the Costa del Sol «is no stranger to this effervescence of the stoves and has ten Michelin stars and in its commitment to gastronomy, the Diputación de Málaga launched the brand Sabor a Málaga, which has as one of its objectives the promotion of local products and important events like this one, with which we collaborated since its first edition «.

«It is as important that the kitchen and living room function as business management is adapted to the new times, we know from past editions experiences that during this congress the greatest experts in each subject have offered their innovative ideas,» he said.

He also pointed out that «for a destination like the Costa del Sol, where gastronomy and restoration are two of the main demands of the millions of tourists who visit us, this event is a very important factor since it will serve to improve the quality and complement the good time that our kitchen lives, offering guidelines to manage business efficiently and innovatively «.

The VIII Gastromarketing Congress is a «fundamental» space for the sharing of the main actors of the tourism industry of the Costa del Sol and takes place at a time of frank expansion of the sector.

In this sense, and as Bernal has detailed, it must be said that «the hospitality industry continues to grow in the province and has an average of almost 83,000 workers, positioning itself as the most relevant labor segment of the destination, with three out of every four employees to the hotel industry in the tourist sector of Malaga «.


This space, which celebrates its eighth edition, emerged with the aim of offering entrepreneurs, restaurateurs and professionals in the sector the necessary tools to manage their resources efficiently, adapt to the new times and provide them with a complete and modern vision that will help in the update of their businesses.

It is a «pioneer» congress in Spain, and even worldwide, aimed especially at catering and gastronomy entrepreneurs, where the experts in each subject give the keys to professionalize and improve any gastronomic marketing strategy, as well as how to present successful cases in the sector that help to develop a strategy to succeed in the complicated world of hospitality.

The new edition of Gastromarketing has professionals like Andoni Luis Aduriz, considered one of the most important chefs in the world, Philippe Regol, relevant Spanish critic, Javier Bonet, creator of the most innovative gastronomic concepts of the present, or Eva Ballarín, researcher of trends, innovation and strategy.
