A total of 72 specialized travel media from all over Germany will visit the province from October 26 to 29, invited by the tour operator Thomas Cook and with the support of the Tourist Board of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, Turismo Andaluz and Turespaña.
As the Diputación reminds in a note, every year this wholesaler organizes an event called Press Conference, which brings together the most important tourism media in the country, such as Travel One, Touristk Aktuell, FVW, as well as newspapers local, regional and national, radio stations, advertising agencies, tourist magazines, ‘bloggers’, etcetera.
The purpose of this meeting is to present the novelties included in its brands Thomas Cook and Neckermann Reisen and promote the commercialization of a tourist destination, showing it to these professionals in the sector directly. In 2018 the chosen destination was the province of Cádiz.
In this regard, the provincial deputy of Tourism, María Dolores Varo, has pointed out that by knowing in person the province, these journalists will become prescribers of the destination and recommend it in their media to their readers and spectators.
“In this way we will promote our brand, market the destination and awaken demand through the multiple articles and reports that will be written after the event”, Varo detailed, who has indicated that “the media value of this action is estimated at 350,000 euros. ”
The Provincial Tourism Board of Cádiz and Turismo Andaluz will have one hour during the official event of the Press Conference to be held on Saturday to present the region and the province to the media at the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz.
After this more technical part, the German media will eat in Cádiz and tour the center on a guided tour before returning to Chiclana where they will be staying at the Hotel Iberostar.
EIGHT ROUTES TO KNOW THE PROVINCE
On Sunday 27 and Monday October 28 will be dedicated to tour the province in eight trips organized by the Board. Four are planned for each day, from which each medium can choose the one they prefer.
So on Sunday you can choose between Cádiz Bahía and Vino that passes through Cádiz, El Puerto and Jerez, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Circumnavigation, Acantilados de Barbate and Faro de Trafalgar and Castellar de la Frontera and Almoraima.
On Monday 28, half-day excursions are planned, as many of the journalists return to Germany on Monday. The proposals for this day are Vejer and Arcos de la Frontera, Rota and Jerez, Baelo Claudia and Tarifa and Sport and Nature that will be developed in Chiclana.

German tourism is by far the most important for the province of Cádiz with respect to foreign visitors. In 2017, 290,177 Germans spent the night in hotel establishments in the province, generating almost two million overnight stays.
