Thomas Cook China has signed an agreement with Hanatour Japan, owned by Hanatour Group, with the aim of creating a company a services company in destination in this market. In this way, the joint venture of the British tour operator and the Chinese conglomerate Fosun, will expand its activity to Japan.
The new receptive tourism joint venture will focus on business tourism from China, in combination with technology and existing distribution channels in this market to develop new products and services that may interest Chinese visitors.
And it is that Japan is a tourist destination that gains followers among Chinese travelers, being one of the most demanded by Thomas Cook China in the corporate travel segment. In 2018, it moved 8 million travelers to Japan, 12% more than the previous year.
«Our new partnership with Hanatour Japan will give Thomas Cook China greater access and better control of the hotels and services it offers in Japan, which will also accelerate growth in this market,» said Thomas Cook China CEO , Alessandro Dassi, in a statement.
