The app AirlineCheckins, developed by Lufthansa Innovation Hub, the accelerator of the German group, will offer an automated service of ‘check-in’ for travelers of more than 200 airlines.
Available for iOs and Android, it aims to make the process of ‘ckeck-in’ more transparent and easy, as well as creating the basis for other services that travelers may require.
The application will work for all the airlines that offer online ‘check-in’ and will carry out the process automatically for those who register. In addition, passengers will be able to monitor the status of their ckeck-in and manage their flights at the same time. AirlineCheckins has been developed through the responses obtained by Lufthansa in a survey of 2,500 customers.
Personal information, such as seat preferences, frequent trips or fellow travelers will be updated in the app. It also has notifications about the status of the next flight and information about boarding gate changes.
The functions will be expanded continuously with additional services. The creation of a subscription-based model that allows users to access the airport lounges and the free Wi-Fi connection within airplanes are two of the novelties that are proposed to be incorporated.
In addition, AirlineCheckins is also configured as a B2B solution for companies, and can be incorporated into corporate travel management systems, a service designed for companies whose employees travel frequently.
