The Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport registered a total of 57,891,340 passengers in 2018, representing an increase of 8.4 percent with respect to 2017 and the best record in the history of the airport, Aena said in a statement. .

It has also been the best year in its history when it comes to international passengers, with a total of 41,857,125 (+ 8.8%). In both cases, growing above the average of the airports in the Aena network.

Regarding the number of operations, in 2018 there were 409,832 movements of aircraft, 5.7 percent more than the previous year.

In transport of goods, Barajas has managed 518,858 tons of cargo, which represents an increase of 9.9 percent over 2017 and accounts for about 51 percent of the total air cargo transported in the Aena airport network .


In December, the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport also recorded its historic record with a total of 4,569,991 passengers, which represents a growth of 7.5 percent compared to the month of December 2017. Of these, 1,263,160 National travelers (+ 4.1%) and 3.297.701 were international travelers (+ 8.7%).

As for the number of operations, in December 2018, 33,050 were registered at the Madrid airport, 5.6% more than in the same month of 2017.
