The German subsidiary of Thomas Cook cancels reservations for trips booked for 2020

The German subsidiary of Thomas Cook announced on Tuesday the cancellation of travel reservations with departure date of January 1, 2020 or later, even if they have been partially or fully paid.

The subsidiary has made this decision «for insolvency reasons» and has assured that those affected will be informed «as soon as possible».

This applies to trips contracted with tour operators brands Thomas Cook Signature, Thomas Cook Signature Finest Selection, Neckermann Reisen, Öger Tours, Bucher Reisen and Air Marin, as well as services booked through Thomas Cook International (TCI).

«We are very sorry to have to convey this message to our clients with departure dates next year,» said the executive director of Thomas Cook’s subsidiary, Stefanie Berk.

In addition, he has expressed his thanks to his partners in travel agencies and hotels in particular for «their patience during the last weeks of so much uncertainty and apologize to them and, of course, once again to our customers.»
