The German subsidiary of Thomas Cook has announced Thursday its final closure at the end of this month, nine weeks after filing bankruptcy.
Thomas Cook Germany, which included the Neckermann Reisen, Air Marin and Thomas Cook Signature brands will stop working next week, as one of the members of the insolvency process administrators team has pointed out to the Dpa.
«With the beginning of the insolvency process, foreseeably next week, the affected workers will receive the notice of dismissal. They are informed of it,» said the source.
The layoffs will affect less than half of the approximately 2,100 employees, as parts of the company will be sold, which would secure the future of more than 1,000 workers.
