The Costa del Sol has registered an increase of 9.6 percent in terms of the number of hotel travelers who visited the destination during the month of February, to reach 318,230, according to the latest hotel newsletter published by Turismo Costa del Sol .
The general director of Tourism, Arturo Bernal, has noted that “an increase that shows how the destination continues to position itself as one of the favorites for tourism.”
This increase is caused by the increase of both domestic and international travelers. And is that the destination was visited by 145,304 Spanish hoteliers in the second month of the year, representing an increase of 10.1 percent over the same period last year and 172,926 foreigners, ie 9.3 percent more than in February 2018.
The Costa del Sol added a total of 958,934 hotel overnight stays, registering an increase of 3.2 percent, mainly driven by the growth of 7.5 percent of domestic travelers, to reach 299,994. The number of overnight stays of foreign hotel travelers experienced a constant increase of 1.3 percent to reach 658,940.
The latest bulletin of the hotel situation shows that the markets that performed best on the Costa del Sol were Austria, Poland, Japan and Finland, with increases of 109.9 percent, 57.2 percent, 38.9 percent one hundred and 33.3 percent, respectively.
The international markets that received the highest number of hotel travelers were France, with 11,026, the Netherlands, with 9,163 and Belgium, with 7,759, have reported through a statement.
