The Korean airline Asiana Airlines has opened in Barcelona its first headquarters in the Iberian Peninsula to coordinate its operations in Spain and Portugal.
The company, which has had the support of Acció, has begun operating this summer four direct weekly flights between Barcelona and Seoul (South Korea).
With the new headquarters, located in Terminal T1 of Barcelona Airport, the airline has completed a strategic plan to be present in the main cities of Europe, in the words of the regional manager of the company, Seungchul Shin.
“Barcelona is a gateway to the Spanish state and the rest of Europe for many Korean travelers, as is Seoul for Catalans traveling to Asia,” according to the company.
The Korean company has hired a dozen workers at its Catalan headquarters, but plans to expand the workforce.
