Spain will host the world’s first international space and underwater tourism event on September 23 and 24 at Les Roches Marbella

“Space & Underwater Tourism Universal Summit” (SUTUS 2019)

• SUTUS 2019 will bring together the main international leaders to discuss the two biggest challenges of luxury tourism: the cosmos and water. It will include, among others, Sam Scimemi (“NASA”), Bernard Foing (“ESA”), Tony Gannon (“Space Florida”) Arthur Paolella (“Harris Corporation”), Nancy Vermeulen (“Space Training Academy)”, Javier Noriega (“Marine Maritime Cluster of Andalusia”) or Ana Bru, the first Spanish woman to travel to space.

• How will manned flights to the tourist space be? When will the International Space Station begin to receive space tourists? What activities can they do? How much money do these trips cost? What minimum physical requirements must be met? How will houses, medical or mechanical instruments needed to survive on Mars be manufactured? What new business opportunities open up with space and underwater tourism? What is an “aguanauta” and what will be the most immediate underwater tourism? These are just some of the questions that will be answered in SUTUS 2019.

On September 23 and 24, coinciding with the autumn equinox, Spain and Marbella will be the center of the most avant-garde tourism. Future, space and underwater universe will shake hands at Space & Underwater Tourism Universal Summit (SUTUS), the first worldwide event on space and underwater tourism. The meeting, organized by Les Roches Marbella, international hotel management school and Medina Media Events, with the collaboration of EXTENDA (Andalusian Agency for Foreign Promotion) and with the institutional support of Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol and the Hon. Ayto de Marbella is the first edition of an event called to gather companies and adventurers who bet on going beyond the known borders, both in space and in the abysses of the oceans.

Under the title “Beyond Borders”, SUTUS 2019, (“Space & Underwater Tourism Universal Summit”) will explore new territories to approach nascent business models in luxury tourism. An opportunity for a constantly growing sector, capable of mobilizing more than 1.3 million travelers, breaking down barriers, renovating companies from within and driving the innovative effort of agents and companies involved. “Tourism is one of the most active industries with endless possibilities. SUTUS will be the beginning of a discovery. The transformative trips have arrived to stay, and it is an area still to be exploited. In Les Roches we are aware of the vital role we play in the creation of what will be, in a few years, the tourism elite, and part of our responsibility lies in anticipating movements and new trends to position our students in the positions most demanding labor market ”, comments Carlos Díez de la Lastra, general director of Les Roches Marbella.

In addition to the presentations of this unique event in the world, attendees and students visiting Les Roches Marbella during those days, can enjoy one of the most successful Virtual Reality experiences at the recently held Observatory of the New Technologies of Malaga . The company 2FEEL 3D will offer an interactive Virtual Reality experience of about 5 minutes to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the arrival of man on the moon. It will recreate the moment in which man steps on the moon, reliving that same moment. Attendees can live in first person the experience of being a true astronaut, walk the lunar surface and interact with different elements.

Attendees can live in first person the experience of climbing to Apollo 11, take off and feel the landing of the ship thanks to the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality glasses. A trip to space where you can select the flag with which you want to crown the satellite.

SUTUS 2019 was born with the vocation of being a reference of tourism from this perspective, reinforcing the prominence of Spain as a world tourism power, and the value of an institution like Les Roches that has 3 locations on 2 continents, (Marbella in Spain, Bluche in Switzerland and Shanghai in China), and where their students develop in multiculturalism, leadership and entrepreneurship skills.

Through the website you can register and access the official program, which will feature high-level speakers from the main companies and institutions involved in the space race and the challenge of underwater tourism.
