Six Spanish restaurants in the ranking of the 50 best restaurants in the world

‘Enigma’ and ‘Elkano’ enter the prestigious gastronomic list

Spain has six restaurants on the list of the best restaurants in the world organized by Restaurant magazine, which this week announced the classification for 2018 of the restaurants that occupy the positions from 51 to 100.

The list has been released a week before its annual event, which will take place on Tuesday, June 19, at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao and which will announce the top 50 positions in the ranking.

Among the Spanish restaurants, the ‘Nerua’ stands out in Bilbao at number 57, ‘Quique Dacosta’ at number 68, ‘Martín Berasategui’ at number 76, ‘Elkano’ at number 77 and ‘Enigma’ at number 95. Returns to the list ‘Diverxo’ of David Muñoz in position 96 after disappearing last year from the list.

The ranking stands out for its geographical diversity, taking into account the constant criticism that has been made to the list for its Eurocentrism. De Librije restaurant in the Netherlands is the best entry in the group between posts 51 and 100 this year.

The list includes restaurants from France, the United States, Thailand, Argentina, China, Australia, Japan, Belgium, Mexico and even Russia.

The ceremony of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2018, can be seen live through streaming from 20.30 hours on Tuesday June 19 through and the Facebook page of 50 Best.
