Silversea guests travel with more immersion in culture thanks to their program of local performances
To offer unique and immersive travel experiences Silversea increases its local entertainment offer three times more 2019. The new and improved offering features 112 local performances, many of which are exclusively designed for Silversea guests by expert artists, which will allow to the guests to deepen in the cultures of the world, to enter in the destinations of significant form.
For travelers looking for authentic cultural experiences, Silversea’s regional entertainment programming literally takes the destination on board, showing the history, traditions and spirit of the people and places visited on trips around the world. From Caribbean drummers to Cambodian dancers from Aspara, experts in the art of Spanish flamenco and Italian musical ensembles, guests will enjoy performances by local dancers, musicians and vocalists. On board the Silver Muse, the Silver Wind, the Silver Whisper, the Silver Shadow, the Silver Spirit and the Silver Cloud, most guests who travel 10 days or more will enjoy a local performance, in addition to the entertainment program habitual.

J4 Quartet in New York, USA: The J4 Quartet, whose members Khari Joyner, Jeremy Kienbaum, Hikaru Yonezaki and Julia Glenn met while studying at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, interprets almost all stylistic periods, including Baroque, classic, romantic and contemporary. Each one also has a very active career as a soloist and teacher, with both American and international commitments.
From Montreal to Charleston (South Carolina): guests traveling on board Silver Wind between Montreal and Charleston will enjoy a performance by the J4 Quartet in New York. As of October 29, 2019, the 12-day trip will take place in Quebec City, Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island), Sydney (Nova Scotia), Halifax (Nova Scotia), Bar Harbor Maine, Boston Massachusetts, Cape Cod and New York, before arriving in Charleston.
Bacchelli Ensemble in Livorno Italy: The Bacchelli ensemble, an acclaimed musical and cultural association, whose performances have been broadcast on Italian television, presents an inspiring repertoire of genres, from the baroque to the classical, from opera opera to operetta, from the Viennese tradition of the nineteenth century to popular music and film soundtracks. The works of the composers of Tuscan origin, Pietro Mascagni and Giacomo Puccini, resonate especially in the group.
From Rome to Monte Carlo: the Bacchelli Ensemble will perform in Livorno for the guests of this Venetian Society sailing between Rome (Civitavecchia) and Monte Carlo, which will depart on September 29, 2019. On a 9-day trip, the Silver Spirit will make Stop in Sorrento, Amalfi, Palermo (Sicily), Alghero (Sardinia), Livorno (Tuscany) and Portofino, before reaching Monte Carlo.
Monaco Brass in Monte Carlo, Monaco: Monaco Brass, a 12-piece brass and percussion ensemble, comes from the venerable Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the main orchestra of Monaco. The famous ensemble offers concerts every year in a variety of festivals and halls with a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th century, including jazz and film music.
From Barcelona to Athens: in Monte Carlo on July 20, 2019, Monaco Brass will delight guests traveling on the Silver Whisper. As of July 18, 2019, this 12-day navigation between Barcelona and Athens will make stops in Marseille, Monte Carlo, Cinqueterre (Portovenere), Sorrento, Siracusa, Valletta, Hydra (Pahang) and Santorini, before reaching Athens on July 30, 2019.
Authentic Flamenco in Palma de Mallorca and Seville, Spain: Authentic Flamenco, a group of artists who have decorated the stages of the Flamenco Biennial of Seville, a world-renowned flamenco festival, presents the Spanish art of flamenco. This precious tradition of songs, dances and music, which has won a place in the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, will also be shown in other Spanish ports by other artists, such as the pianist Sergio Monroy in Cádiz and Raza Flamenco in Barcelona . And the Portuguese fado singing genre, also a UNESCO heritage, is combined with flamenco for a unique show, during stops in Lisbon.
From Barcelona to Lisbon: this 9-day trip between Barcelona and Lisbon will include an Authentic Flamenco performance in Palma de Mallorca on August 12, 2019. After leaving Barcelona on August 10, 2019, Silversea’s Silver Shadow will visit Palma from Mallorca, Valencia, Málaga, Cádiz and Portimao, before reaching Lisbon.
Alaska String Band in Juneau, Alaska: This award-winning family of troubadours, which has appeared on public television in the United States, showcases the best of American music with an impressive collection of instruments ranging from acoustic guitar to violin, mandolin and the banjo. Outstanding genres include swing, jazz, rock, pop, folk and bluegrass.
From Vancouver to Seward (Anchorage, Alaska): the Alaska String Band will perform for Silversea guests in Juneau on August 11, 2019. This 7-day trip aboard the Silver Muse (which will depart on August 8, 2019) between Vancouver and Seward (Anchorage, Alaska), will travel through the inner passage, before stopping at Ketchikan (Alaska), Juneau (Alaska), Skagway (Alaska), Sitka (Alaska) and the Hubbard Glacier (Alaska).
