Silversea opens the sales of the new Silver Origin, specially designed to offer guests an authentic immersion in the Galapagos

From July 16, 2019, guests can book their suites aboard Silversea’s new ship, the Silver Origin, which has been designed with the Galapagos Islands in mind and will be the smartest to navigate the region when it leaves in 2020. The Silver Origin, which has suites for 100 guests, will embark on its inaugural trip in July 2020, showing the authentic beauty of the Galapagos by connecting clients with the destination through immersive experiences.

After admiring the endemic species and exploring the beautiful landscapes of the Galapagos, with expert local guides, guests will continue to discover this unique destination on board, through a cuisine inspired by the region, informative lectures and other improvements. ”

The new and ultra luxurious Silversea boat will continue with the legacy of the award-winning Silver Galapagos, which is retiring, with two seven-night itineraries between Baltra and San Cristóbal, and will offer different experiences for the guests, as follows:

 

From Baltra to San Cristobal

On board the Silver Origin, on the northernmost route, guests will enjoy a circumnavigation on Daphne Major Island and an exploration of: Darwin Bay and the Steps of Prince Felipe in Genovesa; Galapaguera Cerro Colorado and Punta Pitt in San Cristóbal; Gardner Bay and Punta Suárez in La Española; El Eden, the Charles Darwin Research Station and Puerto Ayora in Santa Cruz; as well as Sullivan Bay, North Seymour, Rabida and South Plaza. The highlights of this seven-day itinerary include the possibility of witnessing captivating wildlife species in their natural habitats, including abundant marine life through various diving opportunities near schools of tropical fish, turtles and impressive reef sharks. white tip; and the opportunity to explore unusual geological features; including lava flows in Sullivan Bay, among other experiences.

 

From San Cristobal to Baltra

Silversea’s western route includes points of interest such as Cerro Dragón and Las Bachas beach in Santa Cruz and a circumnavigation of Kicker Rock. The itinerary also includes Punta Vicente Roca, Tagus Cove and Elizabeth Bay in Isabela; Post Office Bay, Champion Islet and Punta Cormorant in Floreana; Los Gemelos, the Charles Darwin Research Station and Puerto Ayora in Santa Cruz; Playa Espumilla in Santiagom if conditions permit; Punta Espinoza in Fernandina; and the Bartolomé Island. Guests traveling west with Silversea will witness magnificent geological features such as Kicker Rock and Pinnacle Rock; You will enjoy a zodiac ride to Buccaneer’s Cove, which once provided refuge for pirates; and several other unforgettable experiences.

 

On both itineraries, Silver Origin guests can explore Darwin’s “Evolution Lab”, where they can see giant tortoises, colorful marine iguanas, blue-footed comical boobies, energetic sea lion cubs, flightless cormorants, Galapagos hawks and Galapagos penguins. Local naturalist experts of the highest caliber (one per ten guests, who provide the highest proportion of guides per guest in the Galápagos), will share their knowledge in the courtesy excursions that will take place. A fleet of eight zodiac boats, the largest in the region per guest, and kayaks will enhance the adventure of water excursions.

 

By 2020, two longer itineraries are scheduled for the Christmas holiday season: as of December 19, 2020, guests will be able to travel much more deeply to their destination on an 11-day trip from San Cristobal to Baltra, while a 12-day New Year cruise will depart from Baltra on December 29, 2020, concluding in San Cristóbal.
