Seabourn orders two new luxury expedition ships

Seabourn, the most modern ultra luxury cruise line in the world belonging to Carnival Corporation, has signed a letter of intent for the construction of two new luxury ultra yacht expeditions at the Italian shipyards T. Mariotti & Damen.
The new yachts will offer an innovative design, created specifically for the ultra luxury expedition traveler and will include some of the successful features of the current Seabourn yachts, as well as new facilities designed to improve the customer experience. Both yachts will comply with the highest safety standards in polar classes (PC6) will have 170 meters in length, 23,000 tons of displacement and capacity for 264 guests in 132 suites with private balcony. The first will open in June 2012 and the second in May 2022. They will offer routes through the Arctic, Antarctica in the austral summer and various exotic routes around the world.
