Ryanair is interested in Thomas Cook’s slots in London, but not in airlines

The low cost airline Ryanair has no interest in buying any of the airlines of tour operator Thomas Cook, which has entered into liquidation process, according to the company’s CEO, Michael O’Leary.

The regional Thomas Cook airlines that are independent, the German Condor and the Nordic group Ving, have confirmed that they are looking for buyers.

“Ryanair has no interest in buying another airline,” O’Leary said at a press conference held this Thursday in Vienna (Austria). Instead, the company could bid for one of Thomas Cook’s take-off and landing spaces at British airports, known in the sector as ‘slots’.
