On June 15 and 16 the locality of the Costa Brava proposes a quarantine of maritime and terrestrial activities, at popular prices, in the 10th edition of this event

Admire the seabed of Cabo Norfeu underwater catamaran, wrestle through the hidden corners of the Cape of Creus aboard a boat, relax by the bay in a traditional Menorcan, kayak, ride a tourist train, go on safari Butterfly Park … These are some of the many and varied leisure proposals with which Roses encourages family enjoy an intense weekend by sea and land discovering its many tourist attractions in the prelude to the summer season.

Summer already warms up and, to welcome you with all the honors, Roses launched a decade ago a great Festival of the Sea in which to enjoy with the family one of the thousand and one leisure activities offered by this town, a benchmark for Costa Brava Catalan and crouched in one of the most majestic bays in the world.

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 who is tempted by it will have access to a quarantine of proposals for all tastes, at popular prices. A program developed by the Roses-Cap de Creus Nautical Station in collaboration with the City Council, the Port and Shopping Roses.

Roses is the gateway to Cabo de Creus, the eastern finisterre of the Iberian Peninsula. A Natural Park that last year celebrated its 20th anniversary. Brujulear for its trimmed coast admiring its most remote corners aboard a monocoque craft of last generation is one of the star activities of the Fiesta del Mar. As well as traveling underwater catamaran to explore the seabed of Cape Norfeu, which penetrates in the Mediterranean as a dagger between Cala Montjoi -which hosted the mythical El Bulli by Ferran Adrià- and the bay of Jóncols. The most active will paddle through the Mediterranean in kayak while those who prefer a relaxed walk in the bay can do so aboard a simple traditional boat such as the Menorcan.

By land you can also enjoy the Rosen natural environment in the Roses Express Train, which will make excursions to Punta Falconera and ascend to the Puig Rom. There, in addition to visiting the Visigothic Castrum – one of the Rosà © s archaeological gems – one of the best panoramic views of the town, its bay and surroundings can be contemplated.

Parents and children will have a great time competing in Minigolf Greens or recreating in the 19 attractions of the Aquabrava water park (discount of 20% in reservations by email until Friday 14), with its vertiginous slides, varied pools and fast rapids. And to emulate the safaris, nothing better than to immerse yourself in the fascinating natural environment of the Butterfly Park, located in the nearby municipality of Castelló d’Empuries. There you can admire the largest butterfly in the world -Attacus Atlas- the largest dove -Goura Victoria- or the fabulous Asian Muntiac deer, among a varied fauna wrapped in lush vegetation.

And as an enogastronomic complement, a visit to Empordàlia, wine and oil installations of the Celler de Pau, winery belonging to the DO Empordà. In it you can savor a tasting of 3 of its wines and oil paired with products from the region.

The schedule of activities of the Festa del Mar de Roses is from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., on Saturday 15; and from 09.30 to 19.30 on Sunday, June 16.
