Republic Airways has signed an order with Embraer to acquire 100 E175 aircraft, worth 4,690 million dollars (4,100 million euros), according to the Brazilian manufacturer’s price list, which foresees the first deliveries for the year 2020. The E195 model is the largest of the four devices that make up the E-Jet family of the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer.
The contract, which follows a declaration of intent announced in July, includes options for other E175 units, with the possibility of conversion to model E175-E2. If these extensions are applied, the valuation of the order amounts to 9,380 million dollars (8,224 million euros).
Republic Airways and Embraer established their alliance in 1999 when one of its subsidiaries, Chautauqua Airlines, placed an order for its first ERJ 145. At present, Republic Airline operates with a fleet of about 190 E170-175 aircraft.
Including this new order, Embraer has sold more than 535 E175 units in North America since January 2013, representing more than 80% of total orders in the 76-seat segment.
