Portugal will have the first International Tourism Academy

The Portuguese city of Estoril will host the first International Tourism Academy, certified by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), or project that has an investment of 24 million euros.

This institution has the participation of several public and private entities, such as the Universities Nova de Lisboa, Citur, the Higher School of Hospitality and Tourism of Estoril and Tourism of Portugal, as well as private groups such as Pestana, PortoBay, Vila Galé, Hoti , Martinhal and VIP.

In addition to an UNWTO Training Center, whose agreement was signed on July 16 in Estoril by the UNWTO Secretary General, Zurab Pololikashvili, and the two schools in operation (Tourism School of Portugal and ESHTE), Tourism International Academy (TIA) will include a space for the incubation of companies in the sector, the Macau Tourism Training Institute (IFT), an internship hotel and a residence with capacity to receive 150 students, whose public competition has already been thrown out.
