NH consolidates its presence in Madrid with its ‘premium’ brand in the middle of Gran Vía

It has seven hotels of its luxury brand in the capital

NH Hotel Group consolidates its presence and bets on Madrid with the inauguration on Thursday of a new hotel of its ‘premium’ brand, the ‘NH Collection Gran Vía’ – of four stars and 94 rooms – located in one of the buildings ” more representative and more authentic “of the capital.

The chain has 28 stores spread across the Madrid region, seven of them from the NH Collection brand in the capital (Abascal, Colón, Eurobuilding, Tepa Palace, Paseo del Prado Suecia and Gran Vía).

Coinciding with its first centenary, the building opens its doors converted into one of the most sophisticated hotel hotels on the emblematic avenue known as Gran Vía 21, an architectural jewel that belongs to the first section of the Gran Vía Madrileña project.

Designed by architects Julio Martínez Zapata and José López Sallaberry (also architect of the emblematic Casino de Madrid), its construction as a residential building for Tomás Allende began in 1915. The Neo-Baroque building opened its doors exactly one hundred years ago, in 1918.

As a new four star, the hotel offers has been decorated by the interior design firm led by Mercedes Isasa, Studio TBC, which has rescued the classic elegance of the fifties and the emergence of the Gran Vía, through materials and forms, of lights and shadows. A fusion between the most traditional Spanish tradition and the most avant-garde tidiness.

The ‘NH Collection Gran Vía’ has 94 rooms: 22 superior rooms, 38 superior rooms with views, 6 ‘premium’ rooms, 12 junior suites, 10 premium rooms with views and six ‘premium XL’ rooms with views.

On the eighth and ninth floors there is one of the most striking attractions of the hotel: a 360 degree rooftop and its restaurant Picalagartos, the new space of Azotea Grupo, and the gastronomic offer of the establishment by the Madrid chef Javier Muñoz-Calero.
