MSC, cruise division of the MSC Group, today confirmed an order with the Italian shipyards Fincantieri for the construction of four ships with a total value of more than 2,000 million euros, with which the shipping company will enter this segment. The four ships will be incorporated into their fleet between 2023 and 2026.
The boats, the first of which will be delivered in the spring of 2023, will have approximately 500 cabins. The other three vessels remaining in the order will enter into service one per year for the next three years at the date set for the first reception, in accordance with the agreement between the parties of October 2018.
The confirmation of this request reinforces the trust placed in Fincantieri, as the shipping company has ordered four ships for its MSC Cruises brand since 2014, worth 3,200 million euros. The first two (MSC Seaside ‘and’ MSC Seaview ‘) are already in service and the following ones will be delivered in 2021 and 2022. The’ MSC Seashore ‘is already under construction.
With these new boats, the MSC Cruises investment plan will increase to a total of 17 new ships that will be built by 2027, with a total investment of 13,600 million euros.
