LATAM is awarded again for its service gastronomic on board

Readers of the publication PAX International have recognized LATAM Airlines Group for the second consecutive year for the best catering service in South America.
LATAM Airlines Group has been recognized by the Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier South America in the ceremony of the 13th version of the PAX International Readership Awards 2019, held in Hamburg, Germany.


The award recognizes excellence in the gastronomic service of LATAM and the commitment of the company to show and celebrate the food and ingredients of the region.


«This award confirms the work we do every day to improve the travel experience of our passengers, where on board food service is a fundamental piece to provide not only quality, but also South American identity in each of our preparations,» he said. The announcement of this recognition comes days after the arrival in Peru of the first plane with the new cabins of LATAM, a project in which the company will invest 400 million dollars to transform 200 aircraft, and that also includes a renovation in the gastronomic concept of the Premium Business service.


At the end of 2017, LATAM transformed the food on board for passengers traveling in Economy, on international flights of more than seven hours. They were designed to offer a gourmet experience, replacing the traditional tray and eliminating the peripheral elements to focus on the local flavors and raw materials of Latin America.


Also, since 2017 domestic flights from Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru have the «Mercado LATAM» service, which allows the purchase of food and beverages on board. The wide range of fresh products and preparations were designed to meet the needs of all types of passengers, seeking to offer the best travel experience.


The annual awards of the PAX International Readership Awards reward the best of the aeronautical industry based on the votes of readers of PAX International magazine, which also recognize other categories such as VIP Lounges, onboard entertainment, connectivity and Duty Free programs, among others.
