Las Palmas de Gran Canaria joins the network of musical tourist destinations of the World Tourism Organization

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been incorporated as a tourist destination in the Musical Tourism Network promoted by the World Tourism Organization, of which the capital is an affiliated member.

In a statement, the councilor for Tourism, Pedro Quevedo, stressed that the city has an excellent musical offer every month of the year. “We have always insisted that music is one of the great strength of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to complement all its tourist attractions,” he said.

For its part, the Network of Musical Destinations has been created as a way to take advantage of the potential of festivals, concerts and events that have music as a common thread and develop common innovative strategies that serve tourist cities to promote new experiences that attract visitors

“We are very proud and excited,” Quevedo added, “during this mandate we have been determined to show that our city is much more than sun, beach and shopping, we have great potential in our history, our culture and heritage and of course in our music events agenda. ”

Finally, the councilor recalled that the council has been working with the main promoters and festivals of the city “to draw a path among all and promote ourselves with the slogan ‘A Festival all year round’ that we took to the Tourism Fair of Madrid, FITUR, with a great acceptance “.
