Salesforce, Hilton Worldwide and Mars have been chosen as the Best Companies to Work for in the World in 2018, according to the world ranking of Great Place to Work, an international reference in research consultancy and Human Resources management, which analyzes the 25 best entities.
The ranking is led by Salesforce, followed by the Hilton Worldwide hotel chain and the Mars food company. The ‘top ten’ is completed by Intuit, The Adecco Group, DHL, Free Market, Cisco, Daimler Financial Services and SAS Institute.
The classification is completed by National Instruments Corporation, Stryker, SAP SE, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Cadence Design Systems Inc, AbbVie, American Express, SC Johnson, EY, Admiral Group, 3M, Belcorp, Adobe Systems Incorporated, Natura and Scotiabank.
To develop this ranking, 7,000 organizations and their more than 12 million employees in 58 countries have been analyzed to develop this world ranking. This is the eighth edition of the World List, which recognizes companies as World’s Best Workplaces for their daily efforts to create workplaces where any employee can maximize the tasks he does within the organization and feel that he can be himself.
These companies are recognized based on the perception of their employees and their Human Resources policies and practices. In addition, they must appear, at least five times in the national lists of their respective countries, have at least 5,000 employees around the world and 40% of their workforce outside the country of origin of the company.
This year, American companies are once again the protagonists, with fifteen companies based in the United States and one Canadian company on the list. Of the 25 organizations, six are European; three German companies, two based in the United Kingdom and one Swiss company. In addition, Latin American companies acquire greater importance, since three organizations based in Argentina, Brazil and Peru are part of the ranking of Best Companies to Work for the World in 2018.
Of the companies included in the list, eleven have also been recognized this year by Great Place to Work as the best places to work in Spain: Mars in Spain, The Adecco Group, Cisco Systems, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Spain, SAS, Stryker , Abbvie, American Express, Admirall Insurance – and EUIGS-IT Global Services – and 3M.
This year, the most represented sector is information technology, with 32% of companies belonging to this sector, companies specializing in industry (20%), followed by financial services and insurers (16%), professional services companies (8%), hospitality (8%) and health (8%), and finally those belonging to the transport sector (4%) and biotechnology and pharmaceutical (4%).
