Hesperia and Hyatt join forces to open two hotels in Madrid and Barcelona

The Spanish chain will invest twelve million to renovate and condition the two hotels

Hesperia Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt Hotels Corporation have signed two franchise agreements for the opening of two hotels in Spain, located in Madrid and Barcelona, ​​under the Hyatt Regency brand, through which the Spanish chain will maintain the ownership and operational management of the two establishments.

Specifically, it is the ‘Hyatt Regency Hesperia’, with 171 rooms, until now the Hotel Hesperia Madrid and the ‘Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira’ (until now Hotel Hesperia Barcelona Tower) with 280 rooms, which will open under this brand from four quarter of this year. Both have a five-star category and constitute two of the most valuable assets of the Hesperia chain.

Hesperia will make an investment of twelve million euros in the coming months for the refurbishment of the two hotels to the standards of the Hyatt Regency brand, which will land in Spain, the hotelier said.

Hyatt Regency is one of the ‘premium’ brands of Hyatt, which has more than 190 locations around the world, including 18 in Europe, although until now it did not have a presence in our country. In Spain, Hyatt has three hotels (‘Park Hyatt Mallorca’, ‘Hyatt Centric Gran Via Madrid’ and ‘Hotel Sofia Barcelona’.

The Hyatt group has focused on increasing its presence in Spain. “These agreements mark an important milestone for Hyatt, as they demonstrate the confidence of owners and developers in the strength of our brand across Europe,” said Hyatt development vice president Felicity Black-Roberts.

SECOND AGREEMENT WITH AN INTERNATIONAL OPERATOR

The CEO of Hesperia, Jordi Ferrer, stressed that this agreement supports the effort and commitment of the chain for high quality products and is part of the policy of giving the best route to their hotels. The agreement with Hyatt is the second that closes the Spanish chain with a large international operator.

In November, Hesperia signed a strategic agreement with the North American Apple Leisure Group (ALG) to market its holiday resorts in the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, under the brand only adults Secretes Resorts & Spas, and the family-friendly brand, Dreams Resorts & Spas.

Hesperia has 28 hotels, four vacation hotels, and 24 urban establishments.
