Fred Olsen Express exceeds 3 million passengers

The shipping company Fred Olsen Express has exceeded three million passengers in 2018, after the three million passenger made the route between Agaete and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Thus, by the end of the year, it expects to reach 3.15 million passengers among its eight active routes, which would imply an increase of 8% over the previous year, as well as an increase of 10% in vehicles that have traveled with the company, amounting to 850,000.

The passenger three million has received the news with “great enthusiasm.” In this regard, Fred Olsen points out that the new decisions adopted by the company, which last October inaugurated a new maritime route between Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Arrecife (Lanzarote), have contributed to this figure, “for the first time in the history made with high-speed vessels and with four daily trips between both destinations “.

In addition, it has added to its fleet the “largest” catamaran in the world, the Betancuria Express, which covers the route between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, the company reported in a press release.

Also, since November, the company has crossed the borders of the archipelago with the new route between Canarias and Huelva, on the Peninsula, in its alliance with the shipping company Baleària, serving both cargo and passenger customers and expanding its services beyond the islands.
