Frank Bauer, new executive director of Eurowings

Industrial engineer of only 37 years, joins the management of Eurowings

 

Eurowings has appointed Frank Bauer as new executive director. Bauer, an industrial engineer, will be responsible for finance, controlling, IT, human resources and legal affairs and corporate functions in one of the largest low-cost airlines in Europe, starting on September 1. Currently, Bauer is head of Corporate Internal Audit, within the Lufthansa group.
“With Frank Bauer, we have won an excellent manager. It will enrich the management with its experience to strengthen and expand our position in front of our competitors, low-cost airlines, “commented Thorsten Dirks, CEO of Eurowings.

On the other hand, the current Executive Director, Jörg Beißel, will return to Lufthansa and from September he will be responsible for the extension of the group’s control department as executive vice president, where he will also be responsible for efficiency improvements and performance management in All the group.
“We thank Jörg Beißel for his tireless commitment, he has played a key role in the development of Eurowings and in its modernization,” adds Dirks.
Frank Bauer studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. He began his career in 2007 as an apprentice and in 2008 became CEO of Lufthansa in Frankfurt. In 2010, he joined Jade Cargo International LTD as Director of Global Sales in marketing management and management in Shenzhen, China. In 2012, Bauer returned to Deutsche Lufthansa and became a consultant in the “SCORE” earnings improvement program. Finally, in 2014, he became director of cabin purchasing for Lufthansa Technik AG and, since 2016, he has headed the corporate audit department of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

 

The enthusiastic marathon and triathlete runner lives with his family in Limburg (Germany).
