Dubai Airport Terminal 2 installs 15,000 solar panels

The increase in the sale of solar panels is increasingly common in domestic sales according to panels and solar panels

Dubai has taken another step for the environment, in Terminal 2 of the airport they have installed 15,000 solar panels in their facilities that will reduce their carbon emissions and save them 300.00 euros per year in electricity bills.

This change was announced on Monday where they had finished the solar panels installation project. For its realization two large companies have been connected, Dubai Airports and Etihad Energy Services Company, the second a company specialized in the energy sector. The project is part of an intelligent initiative of Dewa that the aim is to use renewable energy through the use of solar panels.

A reduction of 3,000 tons

The solar project has a capacity of 5 megawatts that will generate 7,483,500 kWh of annual energy for Dubai airports. This will cause the current load of the second terminal to be reduced by 29%. This will also imply a reduction in the emission of more than 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. This implies a great change for Dubai that since its inception have decided to use a type of polluting energy for the creation of the city itself.

“Reduce consumption by 20%”

Some of those responsible spoke about the project, one of them was Ali Al Jassim, CEO of Etihad ESCO, which will provide maintenance services to the city’s airports for a period of seven years. “This also marks an extension of an existing partnership between the airports of Dubai and Etihad ESCO, which dates back to October 2017, when we signed an agreement for the modernization of terminals 1, 2 and 3 of Dubai in order to improve the energy efficiency and reduce water and electricity consumption by 20 percent. ”Also a few months ago this same company said that it is expected to launch an energy efficiency program aimed at the industry by 2021.

In the Spanish field, one of the Spanish companies that offer these panels is paneyplacassolares, which according to his boss Álvaro López commented that it is something that is booming “its sale is complicated because not all people dare to put their panel in their homes, but It is something that has changed in recent years and is increasingly noticeable in its sale. ”
