Greek cruise operator Celestyal Cruises has extended the suspension of its cruises until June 29, 2020, when it will resume its activity.
For fully paid individual reservations affected by this temporary suspension, Celestyal Cruises offers a future cruise credit of 120% of the original reservation amount, as reported in a statement.
Thus, customers will be able to exchange their credit until the end of December 2021 for any of the Celestyal Cruises itineraries to be carried out in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
«For greater flexibility, customers who have not exchanged their credit for a future cruise within the specified period, will automatically receive a refund of the amount paid to Celestyal Cruises upon maturity of this credit, that is, in December 2021,» explained the company.
He also noted that customers count until this date to decide if they want to use their credit for a future cruise or receive the amount of their original reservation.
In order to provide better service to its customers, the company will automatically send each credit voucher for a future cruise directly to the customer or their travel agent, without the need to contact the customer service center.
To guarantee the tranquility of current clients or those who make reservations for cruises with departures in 2020, Celestyal Cruises has extended its ‘Peace of Mind’ policy until December 31, with which they can change their departure date up to 7 days before the same for trips made between June 29 and August 31, 2020.
For departures between September 1 and December 31, 2020, customers can modify their plans up to 30 days before the departure date, counting until December 31, 2022 in order to reschedule their trip.
The company’s chief commercial officer, Leslie Peden, has stated that the decision «may inconvenience its customers» and has apologized for it. However, he believes that customers will understand that the company’s priority at this time is to ensure the safety and well-being of customers and crew.
«Celestyal Cruises will do everything possible to support its customers, employees and partners in the hope of being reciprocated. The company wishes to welcome all of its customers back on board as the situation returns to normal,» added.
