Cathay Pacific Group optimizes its commercial aircraft fleet

Cathay Pacific Group has announced that it will optimize its commercial aircraft fleet of all its airlines: Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon and HK Express. In this way, the company seeks that each airline reaches its full development potential, taking advantage of their respective unique strengths.

To maximize operational efficiency and synergies between airlines, the group has orders for 65 new aircraft that it will receive in 2024, as part of the fleet modernization plan. This includes the delivery of 21 state-of-the-art Boeing 777-9 aircraft, 12 A350s and 32 A321neo aircraft between 2020 and 2024.

Regarding distribution, the Boeing 777-9 and Airbus A350 aircraft will be received by the Cathay Pacific airline. On the other hand, Cathay Dragon will operate the first 16 A321neo aircraft that will be delivered between 2020 and 2022. Meanwhile, the remaining 16 aircraft will join the HK Express fleet in 2022.

The optimization of the commercial aircraft fleet will maximize the efficiency and synergy of the group’s airlines, ensuring greater growth potential and generating a positive effect for both the group and the traveling public that can enjoy an improvement in their experience of flight.
