BlaBlaCar, the carpool social network, has achieved global profitability, with Spain as one of the «most relevant» countries for the company with five million users and a year-on-year growth in its activity of 25% in the last three months

The firm that connects users to share expenses on a common journey has registered 50 million users worldwide, representing an increase of 40% of its activity compared to the same period last year, as reported in a release.

Likewise, it announced that it will implement before the end of the year its new algorithm in Spain to connect localities that, otherwise, would not have a direct connection, according to a statement.

Currently, two thirds of trips published in BlaBlaCar have no direct transportation equivalent such as bus or train.
