Best Western buys the luxury brand WorldHotels

Best Western Hotels & Resorts has announced the acquisition of the world-renowned hotel brand WorldHotels, which represents a collection of approximately 300 hotels and resorts in major destinations around the world.

The WorldHotels brand will play a “fundamental role” in improving the Best Western portfolio to include the luxury and higher category segments, the chain has highlighted.

WorldHotels will maintain its distinctive personality and individuality while benefiting from “the robust and scalable e-commerce platform of Best Western, solid deals, sales and marketing support and powerful revenue-pulling engines.”

“There is a tremendous synergy between Best Western and WorldHotels, and by joining forces in this new partnership, we will create competitive advantages for both companies, I have the greatest respect for WorldHotels and believe in its enormous potential,” said the president and CEO of Best Western. Hotels & Resorts, David Kong.

Javier de Villanueva, recently appointed director of development and operations of Best Western Hotels & Resorts, will be in charge of managing WorldHotels in Spain. A mission aimed at strengthening Best Western’s expansion plans.

“With this acquisition we gained presence in Spain in a very important and booming sector, and we consolidated our hotel offer to be able to continue providing the best service to our customers”, explained De Villanueva.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, is a privately managed independent hotel group with a global network of 4,200 hotels in more than 100 countries.
