Barcelona achieves the fifth European position for its travel experiences, according to Tripadvisor

In the Spanish ranking, the city counts with the first three places

A bicycle tour through Barcelona has achieved fifth place in the European ranking of the ‘Travelers Choice Experiences’ awards, organized by the TripAdvisor website.

The winners have been selected using an algorithm that takes into account the quantity and quality of travelers’ reviews and ratings of experiences around the world.

In the Spanish ranking, Barcelona stands with the prize in the first three best experiences, thanks to the bike tour; an excursion through “the best of Barcelona”, including the Sagrada Familia; and a bus tour with free stops east to west.

A bus tour with free stops in Madrid is the fourth best ranking experience; followed by another bus tour of Barcelona; a “Noche Flamenca” at the Tablao Cordobés, also in Barcelona; and a half-day visit without queues to the Alhambra and the Generalife gardens of Granada.

The eighth place gets a day trip to Ávila and Segovia from Madrid, an experience that is followed by a day trip to Granada from Seville, with no queues to the Alhambra Palace and an optional walking tour of the Albaicín Finally, in the tenth position there is an excursion to Toledo and Segovia from the capital.


The ‘Travelers Choice Experiences’, recognize 345 experiences, tours and activities around the world and are disaggregated by countries and categories.

In the first edition, the winner of the world ranking was a cooking class and lunch on a Tuscan farm, with a tour of the local market, from Florence.

This experience, combined with a visit to the historic market of Florence, allows you to learn for a day some of the traditional recipes of Italian cuisine, such as fresh pasta or tiramisu. This activity has also positioned itself as number 1 in the European list.

Second on the global list is a walk through Berlin by bicycle, followed by a guided tour of New York one day, which closes the podium of the best experiences of 2018.
