At least two people have died and another 20 have been injured in the early hours of this Thursday by the collision between a train and a truck in the Italian province of Turin.
The incident occurred at a level crossing when a regional train, traveling from Turin to Aosta, collided with a truck from the Czech Republic. The collision has caused the derailment of two wagons and the locomotive, as reported by the local newspaper ‘La Reppublica’.
Among the deceased is the train driver and a technician. In addition, of the 20 people who have been injured, three are in serious condition.
The train was only 10 kilometers away from the destination and the driver tried to avoid the impact with the emergency brake.
