Airbnb Operations Director Belinda Johnson has resigned her position, although she will become part of the company’s board of directors.
As the company reported this Friday, Johnson joined Airbnb in 2011 and has been an «integral part» of the company’s growth over the years.
«Despite all that we have accomplished, we are still at the beginning of our Airbnb history with a lot of work to do and I am delighted to help direct that work in the future as a member of the Board,» Johnson said.
For the executive, joining the board of directors and «contributing to the long-term success of Airbnb», while taking more time to spend time with her family «is an incredible opportunity.»
For his part, the co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky, has remarked that «although they intend to remain on the board» for a long time, «he has moved that he can return to Airbnb as an executive» if he ever he wants it».
