Airbnb opens a ‘call center’ in Barcelona that will employ 800 agents

It will be located in La Sagrera and will have 3,500 square meters

Airbnb has opened on Tuesday in Barcelona one of the largest support centers for guests and hosts of the platform at an international level that is expected to accommodate more than 800 agents by the end of this 2018, said Tuesday in a statement.

The center is managed by CPM and is located in the neighborhood of La Sagrera, in a space of 3,500 square meters distributed over three floors, publishes ‘Expansión’.

Airbnb entrusted CPM with service to hosts and guests in 2012, when a team of 15 people began to attend from Barcelona to users from all over the world, although international growth has motivated the opening of this center and a dedicated team at CPM.

Thus, towards the end of this 2018, the facilities will welcome 800 employees who will attend in nine languages: Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian, German, Russian, Portuguese, English and Dutch.

The general director of Airbnb Marketing Services, Arnaldo Muñoz, stressed that “Airbnb has always been committed to the development of the business fabric of Barcelona, ​​empowering local entrepreneurs and generating new jobs in the city.”

“The opening of this new center is also consistent with the long-term vision of Airbnb for the city, helping to revitalize an area outside the traditional business districts, generating an economic activity that will benefit neighbors and businesses in the area,” has added.


According to the latest economic impact studies, the Airbnb community generated more than 1,000 million euros in Barcelona in 2016, when the platform acquired the Barcelona startup Trip4real.

In addition, Airbnb has also supported other local startups with the WomenUp program, and collaborates with Barcelona Tech City, among other local projects.
