Airbnb announced on Tuesday the expansion of its program of activities ‘Experiences’ throughout Spain, after launching in February 2017 in Barcelona and Madrid and Seville during the second half of last year.
In a statement, the platform has reported that in just over a year, the total of ‘experiences’ available throughout the country have multiplied by twenty-nine, with activities that “contribute to diversify tourism” by cities.
This offer includes horseback riding through medieval architecture locations near Barcelona, beekeeping and honey tasting workshops on the outskirts of Madrid or even routes focusing on the fauna and flora of the Doñana National Park.
The company has advanced that all those who wish to become hosts of these activities, whether private individuals, tour guides or travel agencies, may apply to offer an ‘Experience’ to
through Airbnb, regardless of geographic location.
According to Arnaldo Muñoz, general director of Airbnb Marketing Services in Spain and Portugal, the purchase of Barcelona startup Trip4real in 2016 has allowed the expansion of ‘Experiences’ worldwide.
Currently more than 580 experiences can be booked in Spain through Airbnb in Madrid, Seville and Barcelona, which emerged as a worldwide destination with popular activities among the guests of the platform during the last year.
From this Tuesday, users can book activities in popular destinations such as Mallorca, Ibiza or the Costa Blanca, to which Tenerife, Granada, San Sebastian, Malaga and Valencia will be added in a second phase.
