Air France-KLM exceeds 70 million passengers until August, 3.6% more

The Air France-KLM airline group, which includes the airlines Air France, KLM, HOP! and Transavia, transported 70.25 million passengers until August, 3.6% more than in the first eight months of 2018, the Franco-Dutch group reported.

The supply of the group increased by 3.3% while demand increased by 3.8%, with an occupancy factor of 88.7%, which has meant an increase of 0.4 percentage points.

Last month, the airline group added 9.78 million travelers, representing an improvement of 2.3% compared to the same month of 2018 after registering a 2.1% increase in traffic for an increase of 2.4% of your offer. The occupancy factor was 90.6%, 0.3 percentage points less than a year earlier.

Excluding Transavia, the airline group registered a total of 58 million passengers in the first eight months of the year (+ 2.9%), with a 2.7% higher offer, and a demand that increased by 3.2 %. The occupation factor amounted to 88.3%, 0.4 percentage points more. In August, also without counting Transavia, its passengers increased by 1% to 7.8 million passengers, with an occupancy rate of 90.2%, 0.4 percentage points less.

The occupation factor amounted to 88.3%, 0.4 percentage points more. In August, also without counting Transavia, its passengers increased by 1% to 7.8 million passengers, with an occupancy rate of 90.2%, 0.4 percentage points less.

TRANSAVIA AND KLM

The ‘low cost’ Transavia contributed to the growth of the group with more than 11.54 million travelers, 6.9% more than in the first eight months of 2018. The airline registered 9.5% more demand and 9 , 4% more supply, being the occupancy level of 92.1%, invariable.

In August, Transavia increased its travelers by 7.8%, to 1.9 million, with an increase of 8.9% in demand and 8.7% in supply, with an occupancy factor of 93.2 %, 0.2 percentage points more.

On its side, KLM transported 23.3 million passengers, which is 2.3% more, with a 0.7% higher offer, and a 0.8% increase in traffic. The occupation factor reached 89.6%, 0.1 percentage points more. In August, the Dutch company increased its travelers by 3.2%, with a 1.8% higher offer and a 1.5% increase in traffic. The occupancy factor was 91.6%, 0.2 percentage points less.
