Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, the hotel division of the Living Resorts business unit of Grupo Piñero, has announced that 86% of its establishments in Spain have been exclusively supplied with renewable energy, that is, six out of seven, according to indicated the company.
In this regard, the company has indicated that, thanks to its collaboration with Enovam, the group will stop emitting 4,175 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year and reduce its total emissions of this type by 5.3%.
They have also explained that this initiative is the first one contemplated in the Energy Efficiency Measures Plan (PMEE) of Grupo Piñero for the period 2019-2024, whose objective is to reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of the 27 establishments of Bahia Principe in Spain, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica.
In addition, they have pointed out that this plan is part of the company’s commitment to sustainability, under which Grupo Piñero incorporates its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Nations into its business strategy and corporate governance system. United.
On the other hand, the group highlighted that in 2018 Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts reduced the carbon footprint emitted by each stay in their establishments by 4%, which meant emitting 3,230 tons of CO2 less than the previous year.
